A free screening of Paper Tigers will be held on Sunday, March 20th at 3:00 pm in Crooker Theater at Brunswick High School on 116 Maquoit Road. The film will be followed by a brief discussion.
Tedford Housing’s outreach coordinator for the Merrymeeting Project for homeless youth, Donna Verhoeven, will be part of the panel discussion.
Paper Tigers gives viewers an intimate look at the lives of six at-risk students from Lincoln High School, an alternative school in Walla Walla, Washington. The film details new strategies, based on an understanding of adverse childhood experiences, that were implemented at the school and are helping improve student success, even among the most troubled. This event is co-hosted by Martin’s Point Health Care, Access Health, United Way of Mid Coast Maine and Brunswick School Department. The screening is one night only and is open to the public.
