BRUNSWICK, Maine (September 5, 2017) – Tedford Housing, a nonprofit agency whose mission is to find lasting solutions to the challenges of homelessness, recently elected new board members and officers and received grant funding from Doree Taylor Charitable Foundation, Bank of America, N.A., Trustee, John T. Gorman Foundation and Moser Family Foundation.
Board of Directors Elections
Four new members were elected to Tedford Housing’s board, including Kevin Bunker, Kati Chandler, Robin Nilson and Field Griffith. Bunker, of Brunswick, is principal at Developers Collaborative. Chandler, of Richmond, is assistant branch manager at Norway Savings Bank. Nilson, of Bath, is former Tedford Housing client. Griffith, of Harpswell, is retired.
Two members of the board renewed their terms, including Sarah Piper, commercial loan officer at Bath Savings Institution, and Roger Brodeur, social service supervisor quality assurance-appeals at the Office of Child & Family Services, Maine Department of Health & Human Services.
Board of Directors Officers
Andree Appel, retired clinical director of Oasis Free Clinics, was elected to president of the board; Joyce McPhetres, chief human resources officer at Community Health Options, was elected to vice president; Nonny Soifer, executive director of MDSOAB, was re-elected to secretary; and Sally Loving, communications and marketing consultant, was elected to become an at-large representative on the board.
Grant Announcements
Doree Taylor Charitable Foundation, Bank of America, N.A., Trustee granted Tedford Housing $75,000 over the period of two years for homeless services for southern Midcoast Maine families and youth.
John T. Gorman Foundation awarded $15,000 in funding to Tedford Housing through its annual Direct Services Grant program. The funds will be used for case management services for homeless families and youth.
Moser Family Foundation approved a grant for $15,000 to Tedford Housing to support new building design and planning and $7,500 to support its Merrymeeting Project for homeless youth.
