Homeless Persons’ Memorial Day Commemoration – December 21, 2012

Brunswick- On December 21, 2012 Tedford Housing is joining the National Coalition for the Homeless, National Consumer Advisory Board, and the National Health Care for the Homeless Council (NHCHC) in hosting a Homeless Persons’ Memorial Day to remember ¬†friends, family members, and neighbors who passed away while homeless in the past year. In 2011, at least 157 cities in 40 states and the District of Columbia took part.

At 4:00 PM at the Morrell Community Room of the Curtis Public Library on Middle Street in Brunswick, the community is invited to convene for a memorial commemoration followed by a candlelight walk to the Mall. Refreshments will be offered.

Each year since 1990, on or near the first day of winter and the longest night of the year, National Coalition for the Homeless (NCH), National Consumer Advisory Board (NCAB), and the National Health Care for the Homeless Council (NHCHC) has co-sponsored National Homeless Persons’ Memorial Day to bring attention to the tragedy of homelessness.

Please come and join Tedford Housing in remembering our homeless friends who have paid the ultimate price in the struggle to end homelessness.
